What does a church social media manager do?

They’re not just posting.

They’re responsible for consistency, making sure the church shows up online regularly, clearly, and in alignment with its values.

They take what’s already happening: sermons, events, people, Scripture, and shape it for each platform instead of forcing the same post everywhere.

They protect the church’s voice. Tone matters. Theology matters. Clarity matters. Once that drifts, it’s hard to get back.

They watch what’s working and what isn’t. Not to chase trends, but to understand how people are actually engaging and adjust.

And they provide ownership. One person who knows the plan, keeps things moving, and makes sure social media doesn’t disappear when ministry gets busy.

The goal isn’t to make the church look popular.

It’s to help it show up online with consistency, trust, and intention.
